Mr. and Mrs. Mitchell Garner of Wheeler, Mississippi are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Lauren Garner to Nicholas Grant Berry of Raymond, Mississippi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rusty Berry also of Raymond.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Marilyn Coggins and the late Conwell Coggins of Wheeler. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. Joe Wayne Garner and the late Mrs. Jane Garner of Wheeler.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Gray of Jackson. He is also the grandson of Mrs. Belinda Berry and the late David Berry of Laurel, Mississippi and the late Jean Berry of Crystal Springs, Mississippi.
Miss Garner is a 2007 honor graduate of Wheeler High School, where she was named to the Hall of Fame and was elected Miss WHS. Ashley was also a member of the slow-pitch softball, tennis, and basketball teams. She attended Northeast Mississippi Community College where she was inducted into Phi Theta Kapa, and is a 2011 graduate of Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Ashley is currently employed as a registered nurse for GI Associates in Jackson, Mississippi.
The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Central Hinds Academy where he was a member of the football, cross country, and track teams. Nick was awarded a leadership scholarship from the Jackson Touchdown Club. He attended Hinds Community College and then graduated from Mississippi State University with Bachelors’ degrees in Landscape Architecture and Landscape Contracting. He received the Spirit of Robert A. Callaway landscaping award. He is presently employed with Simply Southern Solutions in Raymond, Mississippi.
The couple will exchange vows at 5:00 pm on April 9, 2016 at Hewlett Barn/ The Stables in Starkville, Mississippi with the reception immediately following the ceremony. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
