Kate Rather and Chris Killough

Mr. and Mrs. David Rather of Tupelo are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Kate McCleary Rather, to Christopher Kyle Killough, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Killough of Booneville.

Miss Rather is the granddaughter of Bro. and Mrs. Jimmie Davis of Fulton, MS, and the late Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Rather of Holly Springs, MS.

Mr. Killough is the grandson of the late Mr. Leonard C. Wallis and the late Junie Wallis Goolsby of Booneville, MS and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Killough Rienzi, MS.

The bride-elect is a 2005 graduate of Tupelo High School. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi State in 2008 where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. She completed her Master’s degree from Delta State University in 2010 in Curriculum and Instruction and her Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State in 2015. The bride-elect is a kindergarten teacher at Saltillo Primary in Saltillo, MS.

The prospective groom graduated from Booneville High School in 2004. Mr. Killough was a Eagle Scout and a member of the National Honor Society. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2008 where he received his bachelor’s degree in elementary education. Mr. Killough also received his Master’s in Educational Leadership from Mississippi State University in 2011 and his Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership from Delta State University in 2017. Mr Killough is currently employed at Corinth Middle School where he is assistant principal.

The couple will exchange vows at 6:00 PM, March 18 at Kingfisher Lodge in Verona, MS. Reception will follow.
