Mr. and Mrs. George Bennett Hardy, II, of Athens, Alabama, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jordan Leigh Hardy, to Harold Eugene Haney, III, of Oxford, Mississippi. Hunter is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Harold Eugene Haney, Jr. of Oxford.
Wedding vows will be exchanged at 5:30 p.m. November 15, 2014, at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford. A reception will be held at The Lyric following the ceremony.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Leonard Adams and Mr. George Bennett Hardy and the late Sarah Dorothy Hardy, all of Athens.
The prospective bride graduated from the University of Alabama School of Education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. While at Alabama, the bride was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. After graduation, Miss Hardy moved to Oxford, Mississippi, where she is currently a fourth grade teacher at Della Davidson. In 2012, Miss Hardy was the First-Year Teacher of the Year for the Oxford School District.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Bettye Morrow Butler and the late Mr. James Nesbit Butler and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Eugene Haney, all of Oxford.
Mr. Haney is a graduate of The University of Mississippi School of Applied Science with a degree in Hotel/Hospitality Management. While at Ole Miss, Hunter was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order and studied abroad in London, England. He is currently completing a master’s degree in Public Administration through Belhaven University in Jackson. The groom was a food and beverage director in Athens, Alabama, before returning to Oxford in 2011, where he is currently employed in the Human Resource Department of North Mississippi Regional Center.
