Elizabeth Higgins and Christopher Hill

Kevin and Angie Higgins of Etta, Mississippi are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Elizabeth Carol Higgins to Christopher Mark Hill, son of Scott and Hope Hill of Etta, Mississippi.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Lonnie Earl Massengill (Bobbie) of Como, Mississippi, Donna Elizabeth Coleman of Selmer, Tennessee and Kenneth Lamar Higgins and late Vivian Carol Higgins of Hickory Flat, Mississippi.

Miss Higgins is a 2012 graduate of West Union Attendance Center with honors. She currently attends the University of Mississippi pursuing a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Wanzie and Joyce Williams of Oxford, Mississippi.

Mr. Hill graduated from West Union Attendance Center in 2010 with honors. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelors of Science in exercise science. He received his Masters of Science in kinesiology from Mississippi State University in 2016.

The couple will exchange vows on May 28, 2016 at 7:00pm at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Etta, Mississippi with reception to follow. Family and friends are invited to attend.

James and Tammy Bailey of Saltillo are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Chasity Hope Bailey, to Corey Adam Franks, son of Jeff and Tina Franks of Auburn Community.

Miss Baileyis the granddaughter of Helen Crumpton of Tupelo, Mississippi.

Mr. Franks is the grandson of Mac and Linda Gregory of Auburn Community and C.G. and Betty Franks of Ballardsville Community and late Nadine Franks of Tupelo, Mississippi.

The bride-elect is a 2009 Saltillo High school graduate where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She graduated Itawamba Community College in 2011 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad and diamond girl team. She graduated Mississippi State University in 2013 with her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Again, she graduated Itawamba Community College with honors in 2015 with her Associates of Science in Respiratory Care. The bride-elect works at North Mississippi Medical Center where she is a registered Respiratory Therapist.

The prospective groom graduated from Mooreville High School in 2008 where he was a member of the football and baseball team. He graduated from Mississippi State University in 2013 with his Bachelors of Science in Forestry. Mr. Franks is currently employed with the Mississippi Forestry Commission where he is a Service Forester.

The couple will exchange vows at 6:00, May 28, 2016 at Kingfisher Lodge in Tupelo, Mississippi. Reception will follow at Kingfisher Lodge. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Miss Clark is the granddaughter of Jackie and Zula Akers of Booneville, and Diane Akers of Booneville and Ronnie and Shirley Clark of Booneville.

Mr. Lowrey is the grandson of Frances Tennison and the late Luther Tennison of Booneville and Reverend Ed and Anita Lowrey of Booneville.

The bride-elect is a 2010 honor graduate of New Site High School where she was a member of the basketball, cross-country and fast pitch softball teams. She attended Northeast Mississippi Community College and graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Science and Disorders. She graduated this month from the University of Mississippi with a Master of Science degree in Communication Science and Disorders. She plans to work in a school setting as a speech-language pathologist.

The prospective groom graduated from Thrasher High School in 2011 where he was a member of the baseball and golf teams. He attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. He is currently employed as assistant manager at The Treasure Chest in Corinth.

The couple will exchange vows at 6pm, on May 28, 2016, at The Arbors of Amory (formerly River Birch) in Amory, Mississippi. Reception to follow. No local invitations are being sent. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Virginia Catherine Yarber and Thomas Reedy Collins, Senior, were united in marriage on April 2, 2016 at 6:00 o’clock in the evening at First United Methodist Church. Reverend Lynn Mote officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Houston Yarber of Belden. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Reed Holley of Oxford, Mississippi and the late Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Houston Yarber of Belmont, Mississippi.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Reedy Collins, Senior, of Saltillo, Mississippi. He is the grandson of Mrs. Julian Frank McCarver and the late Mr. McCarver of Ecru, Mississippi and the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Edward Collins , of Tupelo.
The bride wore a beautiful strapless gown of alencon lace gown featuring a mermaid sillhouette, accented with a beaded belt at the fitted waist. Covered buttons complimented the deep v back and ended with a chapel train. Her veil was a cathedral length edged with matching alencon lace and delicate beading. Her bouquet was made of blush and cream roses, antique green hydrangeas with accents of long ivy, dusty miller and silvery lambs ear foliages.
Serving as matron of honor and maid of honor were her sisters, Holley Yarber Meriweather and Anna Claire Yarber, both of Tupelo. Bridesmaids were Lauren Collins Waldrop, sister of the groom, of Tupelo; Chelsea Mothershed McKnight, of Tupelo; Anne Elise Ray, of Jackson, Mississippi; Hart Wardlaw Berry, of Madison, Mississippi; Kathleen Ambrose Kesterman, of Nashville, Tennessee; Elizabeth Kelty McLaurin, of Covington, Louisiana; Jennifer Hart Burke,of New Orleans, Louisiana; Louise Wallace Nesbit, of Nashville, Tennessee; and Marjorie Ann Sauer, of Ridgeland, Mississippi. Her attendants wore floor length chiffon gowns in blush and carried bouquets of blush roses, cream roses, antique hydrangeas, lime hydrangeas, and garden mums.
Program attendants were Sally Kathryn Douglas , of New Orleans, Louisiana and Melissa Banister Russell, of Houston, Texas. Proxy bride was Anna Claire Jackson, of Nashville, Tennessee.
Best man was the father of the groom, Thomas Reedy Collins, Senior. Groomsmen were Justin Keith Waldrop, brother-in-law of the groom, of Tupelo; Emory Nash Hunter, brother of the groom, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Matthew Cooper McKnight, of Tupelo; Scott Alan Slocum, of Denver, Colorado; Jacob Wade Harris, of Atlanta, Georgia; Kenneth Tirey Brady, of Tupelo; Alan Stephen Martin, of Birmingham, Alabama; Harris Pace Faucette, of Tupelo; and William Nickle Smith, of Memphis, Tennessee. Serving as ushers were William Austin Wallace, of Oxford, Mississippi; Adam Ross Houpt, of Oxford, Mississippi; and Travis Reed Miles, of Tupelo.
On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents honored the couple with a rehersal dinner at South in Tupelo.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Park Heights Restaurant in Tupelo. After a honeymoon trip to Destin, Florida, the couple resides in Tupelo.

Chelsea Rick and Jason Shelton

Chelsea is a cum laude graduate of Millsaps College with a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors Distinction and was a Lilly Fellow with a minor in Faith and Work. Chelsea is currently a third year medical student at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine where she was inducted into Sigma Sigma Phi, the National Osteopathic Academic Honorary. Chelsea is the former Miss Mississippi 2013 and was a Top 15 Finalist at Miss America. She is a MS Rural Physicians’ Scholar and is completing her clinical rotations at North Mississippi Medical Center.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Eunice Loden Witt and the late Rev. Farris Lee Shackelford of Fulton, Mississippi, and the late Mr. John Wyte Shelton and the late Mrs. Willie Davis Shelton of East Tupelo, Mississippi.
Jason is a magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University where he was a John C. Stennis Scholar in Political Science. He went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi School of Law and has been a practicing attorney managing Shelton and Associates, P.A. He is currently serving as Mayor of Tupelo, Mississippi, during which he was named an MSNBC “Rising Star” in politics in Mississippi. Jason was most recently named the Mississippi Business Journal’s “Under 40” Business Person of the Year.
The couple will exchange vows on May 28, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church in Tupelo, Mississippi, with reception to follow at Fairpark.

Amelia Martin and Christopher Bell

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Martin of Tupelo, MS are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Amelia Catherine Martin, to Christopher Laroi Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Bell of Nesbit, MS.

Miss Martin is a 2004 graduate of distinction from Tupelo High School; a 2009 graduate from the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Elementary Education; a 2011 graduate of Mississippi College where she earned her Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and also a 2015 graduate from Mississippi College where she earned her Educational Specialist’s degree in Educational Leadership. Amelia currently works for the Mississippi Department of Education as a Literacy Coach.

Mr. Bell is a 2004 honors graduate of Southaven High School. After high school, he attended Mississippi State University where he studied Accounting. Chris is currently an Operations Supervisor at United Parcel Service (UPS).

The couple will exchange vows at 6 pm, on Saturday, June 4, 2016, at the Kingfisher Lodge with a reception to follow. The couple will reside in Olive Branch, MS.

Kristen Covington and Kyle Tubb

Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Kyle Covington of Bailey announce the engagement of their daughter, Kristen Joy, to Kyle Winston Tubb, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Winston Tubb, Jr., of Amory.

Miss Covington is the granddaughter of Mrs. Betty Harper and the late Robert O. Harper, of Meridian, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Covington, of Meridian.

The bride-elect is a 2009 graduate of West Lauderdale High School and a 2013 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Educational Psychology. She also earned her Master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology from the University of West Alabama.

While attending MSU, she was a member of Phi Mu sorority, the all-girl cheer squad, and was a MSU Roadrunner.

Miss Covington is employed by Rankin County School District as a special education teacher.

Mr. Tubb is the grandson of Mrs. Faye Stevens and the late Lawrence Stevens of Amory, and Mrs. Martha Tubb and the late Charles Tubb of Amory.

The bridegroom-elect is a 2009 graduate of Amory High School and 2013 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences. He also earned a Master’s degree on Biomedical Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

While attending MSU, he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and worked with Hispaniola Mountain Ministries.

Mr. Tubb is currently enrolled in the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Dentistry.

The couple will exchange vows on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Northcrest Baptist Church in Meridian, MS. A reception will follow at Soule’ Steam Feed Works.

Miss McFerrin is a 2010 honor graduate of Mantachie High School where she was a member of the cheerleading, basketball, and softball teams. She graduated with honors from Itawamba Community College with an Associate of Arts degree in 2012, and went on to graduate from Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2014. She is currently employed as a registered nurse in the critical care unit at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Mr. Marlin is a 2012 graduate of Mantachie High School where he was a member of the basketball and baseball teams. He obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Itawamba Community College in 2014, and graduated from Mississippi State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Agronomy. He is currently employed with the Mid-South Farmers Co-op in Guntown, MS.

She graduated from the University of Mississippi with her Bachelor of Accountancy in 2015 and Masters of Accountancy in 2016. She will begin working at HORNE, LLP in Ridgeland, MS.

The prospective groom is a 2011 honors graduate of Tishomingo County High School. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering. He graduated from the Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College at the University of Mississippi. He is currently a medical student at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Miss Harmon is a 2014 graduate of Amory High School where she was Vice President of her class and a recipient of the Golden Panther Award. She attends Itawamba Community College where she is in the Physical Therapist Assistant program and will be a graduate of the program in May of 2017.

Mr. Ferguson graduated from Hatley High School in 2008 where he was Vice President of his class and was elected Mr. Hatley High School. He graduated from Itawamba Community College in 2014 from the Physical Therapist Assistant program with honors. He currently works at Oxford Health and Rehab where he is a physical therapist assistant.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of New Albany High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Communicative Disorders at the University of Mississippi and her Masters of Speech Pathology at the University of Southern Mississippi. She is a Speech Pathologist in Rankin County Schools.
Mr. Judkins is the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Charles Fowler and Mrs Elizabeth Judkins and the late Mr. Robert Judkins.
The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Jackson Preparatory School and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is employed by Entergy in Port Gibson.

Miranda McCormick and Chad Owens

Monty and Cindy McCormick of Hatley, Mississippi announce the engagement of their daughter, Miranda McCormick, to Chad Owens, son of Andy Owens and Sandra Akins of Dumas, Mississippi.
The bride elect is the granddaughter of Bill and Reba Flurry of Dorsey and the late Ernest and Bernice Nell McCormick of Hatley. She attended Hatley and Hamilton High Schools where she was a member of the basketball, fastpitch and slowpitch softball teams. She was selected to play for the 2009 All State and MAC All Star Slowpitch teams. Attending ICC, she was elected 2009 Freshman Homecoming Maid and was a two year member of the Indianette Dance team. Miranda completed her education by receiving her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. She is currently the fourth grade Language Arts teacher at Dorsey Attendance Center in Itawamba County.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Roger and Betty Hogue of New Albany and Harris Owens and the late Barbara Ann Owens of Dumas. He attended East Union High School .He is currently a professional bullrider for the Professional Cowboy Association. In 2014, Chad’s winnings made him the number one bullrider in the PCA heading into the world finals. He went on to be a two time world finals qualifier in 2014 and 2015 in the PCFR.

The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate from Nettleton High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad and state championship dance line team, yearbook staff business manager, beta club member, junior civitan club member, hall of fame member of her graduating class, and top ten rank of her graduating class. She received her Associates of Arts degree from Itawamba Community College in 2013 with honors where she was a member of the ICC Indianettes dance team from 2011 to 2012, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and was on the Deans Academic list. She currently attends Mississippi State University where she is majoring in Veterinary Medicine. The bride-elect works at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

The prospective groom graduated from Nettleton High School in 2007 where he was a four year member of the high school marching band, member of the tennis team, the state championship bowling team, beta club, junior civitan club, future problem solving team. He graduated twelfth in his class, and was an academic hall of fame member. He currently attends the University of Mississippi where he will graduate with his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in December 2016. He is a member of the dean and chancellors academic list at the university. Mr. Hendrix is currently employed at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Dalton Sullivan is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Alexander of Nettleton and the late Mr. and Mrs. Clovis Sullivan of Nettleton.

The bride-elect was a 2012 honor graduate of Nettleton High School where she was valedictorian and a member of the softball team. She was a Presidential Scholar Athlete playing fastpitch softball at Jones County Junior College. Miss Hawkins graduated summa cum laude from Belhaven University in May 2016 where she also played fastpitch for the Blazers and received the David M. Halbrook Award. She will enter graduate school at the Mississippi University for Women in the fall pursuing a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology.

The prospective groom graduated with honors from Nettleton High School in 2010 where he played football and was on the powerlifting team. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with a degree in education, and is currently employed as a teacher and coach with Okolona Schools.

The couple will exchange vows at 7p.m. on June 18, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Nettleton, MS. A reception will follow at the home of the bride’s parents. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Miss Grant is a 2010 graduate of Ripley High School. She graduated from Northeast Mississippi Community College and Delta State University, with honors. Miss Grant will begin her career at Hatley School, where she will be the assisstant band director.

Mr. Young is a 2011 graduate of Kossuth High School. He graduated from Northeast Mississippi Community College and Delta State University, with honors. Mr. Young will begin his Masters in Music Performance at the University of Mississippi in the fall.

Miss Peters is a 2009 graduate of Tupelo High School, and a 2013 graduate of The University of Mississippi where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis in graphic design. The bride-elect works at Address to Impress and S&S Graphics in Tupelo, where she is a graphic designer.
Mr. Morse is the grandson of Mrs. Eileen Grenier and the late Donald Grenier of Saltillo, Mississippi, and Mrs. Linda Morse and the late Larry Morse of Saltillo, Mississippi.
The prospective groom graduated from Saltillo High School in 2010 where he was the Division 1 5-A Pitcher of the year, a part of the All Division Team, and a state games participant. He then attended Itawamba Community College where he received his associates degree and was a member of the baseball team. In 2015 he graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in Secondary Education. Mr. Morse is currently employed at Guntown Middle School where he is a History Teacher, Assistant Football Coach, and volunteer Assistant baseball coach for Saltillo High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Greg Case of Chicago, Illinois are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Samantha Kathleen Case, to Neal Russell Clement, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Clement of Tupelo, MS.

Miss Case is the granddaughter of the Mrs. Lorraine DeGuise and the late Mr. Joe Rayburn of Chicago, Illinois and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Case of Chicago, Illinois.

Mr. Clement is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey O’Neal Clement of Jackson, MS and Mr. and Mrs. Don Wildmon of Tupelo, MS.

The bride-elect is a 2011 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School where she was a AP and Honors student, performed in Carnegie Hall as a member oh her high school choir, and a member of the Track Team and Cheerleading Squad. She graduated from University of Kentucky in 2015 where she completed a degree in English and performed with the university’s female A cappella group. The bride-elect works at Lexington Christian Academy where she is a teacher’s assistant/ substitute.

The prospective groom graduated from Tupelo Christian Preparatory School in 2011 where he was a state participant and medalist of the Varsity Track and Swim Team, President of the Class of 2011, and Chaplain of the Student Council. He attends the University of Kentucky and is predicted to graduate in December of 2016. Mr. Clement is currently employed at Wildcat Wearhouse where he is a photographer and graphic designer.

The couple will exchange vows at 5:45, June 18th at The Antler in Tupelo, Mississippi. Reception will follow. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Joe and Joan Blassingame of Baldwyn are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Katherine (Katy) Rose Blassingame, to Jordan Wilson, the son of Joey Wilson and the late Jackie Wilson of Baldwyn.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of L.R. and Vadeen Burcham of Baldwyn, and the late Leroy and Susie Blassingame of Baldwyn.
Miss Blassingame is a 2009 honor graduate of Baldwyn High School, an honor graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing, and a graduate of Mississippi University for Women with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree of Science in Nursing. She is currently employed as a Family Nurse Practitioner at New Albany OBGYN Clinic in New Albany, Mississippi.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Jack Presley and the late Dot Presley of Baldwyn, and the late Joe and Anne Wilson of Philadelphia.
Mr. Wilson is a 2010 graduate of Baldwyn High School where he was a member of the golf team, and a graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Information Science and Leadership. He will be employed as an Inspector for the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce.
The couple will exchange vows on June 18, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Baldwyn. A reception will follow at Gholston Farms in Baldwyn. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Gilliam is the granddaughter of Mrs. Barbara Robertson and the late Hugh D. Robertson of New Albany, MS and the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. Gilliam of Myrtle, MS.

Mr. Jordan is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James H. McAlilly of Clinton, MS, Mr. and Mrs. George W. Jordan and the late Ruby Jordan of Mize, MS.

The bride-elect is a 2008 graduate of Ingomar Attendance Center. She graduated cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Mississippi in 2014. Miss Gilliam is currently a fourth grade teacher at Brandon Elementary School.

The prospective groom graduated from Clinton High School in 2007. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing in 2011 where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau. Mr. Jordan is currently employed at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he is a Registered Nurse.

The couple will exchange vows at 5:00 p.m., June 18, 2016 at Ingomar United Methodist Church in New Albany, MS. A reception will follow at The Event Hall of New Albany. No invitations will be sent locally. All friends and family are invited to attend.

Dr. and Mrs. Randall Lynn Robbins of Clinton announce the engagement of their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Robbins, to Robert Davis House, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brown House of Jackson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Glen Jones, Sr., of Clinton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Curtis William Robbins of Manila, Arkansas.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mrs. Hershel Oneal Lockhart and the late Mr. Lockhart of Amory, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Woodrow House of Holly Springs.
Miss Robbins is a 2010 graduate of Clinton High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in psychology from Mississippi State University in 2014. She is a student in the School of Nursing at Mississippi College pursing a bachelor of science in nursing degree.
Mr. House is a 2009 honors graduate of Jackson Preparatory School. In 2013, he was graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. At MSU, he was active in Phi Delta Theta Fraternity where he served as rush chairman and vice-president. Mr. House received his Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law in May 2016.
The couple will exchange vows June 18 at First Baptist Church of Clinton, with a reception to follow at The South.
