Mr. and Mrs. William Clark Carter of Rolling Fork are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Mattie Bliss, to Bennett Reed Mize, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mize of Tupelo.
Miss Carter is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Richard “Jimmy Dick” Carter of Rolling Fork, MS and Katie and the Late Rev. Wiley Reid of Brookhaven, MS.
Mr. Mize is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Reed of Tupelo, MS and the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Mize, Sr. of Fulton, MS.
The bride-elect attended Sharkey Issaquena Academy in Rolling Fork, MS. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2012 where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority, the Student Association, and the Montgomery Leadership Program. The bride-elect is an aide to Senator Thad Cochran.
The prospective groom attended Tupelo High School. He graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2009, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and worked in the William Winter Institute for Racial Reconciliation. Mr. Mize is an aide to Senator Thad Cochran.
The couple will exchange vows at twelve noon, Saturday, October 15 at First Baptist Church of Rolling Fork, MS. A reception will follow at Mont Helena.
