Kayla Elise Clayborne of Nashville, Tennessee, and Donald Lloyd Counts, III of Nashville, Tennessee, were united in marriage on March 19th 2016, at half after five o’clock in the afternoon at Church of the Holy Trinity in Nashville. The Reverend William Dennler officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kelly Clayborne of Tupelo, Mississippi. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Buford Fowlkes of Amory, Mississippi, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leland Kelly Clayborne of Amory, Mississippi.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Griffin Williston of Lafayette, Tennessee, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lloyd Counts, Jr. of Carriere, Mississippi. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Lloyd Counts, Sr. of Madison, Mississippi, the late Mrs. Frances Alleine Newton Counts of Yazoo City, Mississippi, the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eugene Peery of Oxford, Mississippi, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hamlin Lapham Williston of Oxford, Mississippi.
The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier design wedding gown of hand sewn ivory French Alencon lace with a silk, latte underlay and pearl buttons tracing the back. The neckline was accented by lace scallops that were mirrored along the bottom of the dress. She wore her sister’s ivory chapel-length veil with lace trim. The bride also adorned an antique diamond necklace belonging to the groom’s maternal great-grandmother and pearl and diamond earrings along with a matching ring given to her by the groom on their first anniversary of courtship.
The matron of honor was Kelsey Clayborne Flanagan of Nashville, Tennessee, sister of the bride. The maid of honor was Natalie Katherine Finley of Nashville, Tennessee.
The bridesmaids were Arma Ruth de la Cruz of Starkville, Mississippi; Samantha Shelden Elliott of Ft. Worth, Texas; Lynda Marie Jarreau of Nashville, Tennessee; Erica Christine Reed of Nashville, Tennessee; Courtney Frances Wilemon of Tupelo, Mississippi; Katherine Adair Bowen Williston and Sara Elizabeth Williston, sisters of the groom, both of Lafayette, Tennessee.
The bridesmaids wore pleated floor-length gowns in pale pink chiffon. The style featured a sweetheart neckline and ruched bodice.
Griffin Peery Williston of Denver, Colorado, brother of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Justin Thomas Bishop of Germantown, Tennessee; Caleb Reid Brock of Nashville, Tennessee; David Michael Irwin of Memphis, Tennessee; Randall Reid Gentry of Ridgeland, Mississippi; Michael Avery Shinn of Nashville, Tennessee; Daniel Francis Sparkman of University Place, Washington; Charles Hayes Trayal of Cordova, Tennessee; and Caleb Brandon Yates of Nashville, Tennessee.
The groom and his groomsmen wore two-button navy framed notch lapel tuxedos. The groom sported a paisley marine tuxedo tie, and the groomsmen donned marine tuxedo ties.
A reception followed at Avenue in the heart of downtown Nashville. The music for the evening was provided by Burning Las Vegas, and the dinner was created by G Catering.
Serving as ushers were William Drew Meisenheimer, of Germantown, Tennessee, and Hunter Grafe Flanagan, brother-in-law of the bride, of Nashville, Tennessee.
The bride’s bouquet was a garden style spray of quicksand roses, dusty miller, eucalyptus, white freesia, white peonies, garden spirit roses, white sweet pea, and seasonal flowers and greenery. The bouquet was hand tied with a wrap of lace from the bride’s mother’s wedding gown. Wedding rings and a cameo from the bride’s grandparents and great-grandparents were fastened to the wrap.
On the eve of the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Griffin Williston, at Homestead Manor, a pre-Civil War plantation estate in Thompson’s Station, Tennessee.
After a honeymoon in Paris, France, the couple resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
The bride is employed as an event planner at the Tennessee Valley Authority in Nashville, Tennessee. The groom is employed as an executive chef by A. Marshall Food Group in Franklin, Tennessee.
